Alyssa is currently working on post-bachelors science courses for M.S. admissions. Alyssa received her Bachelor's of Health Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and Minor in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso in Fall 2018. Her goal is to earn her M.S. in Respiratory Therapy and a second M.S. in Physician Assistant studies concentrating in Orthopedic Surgery. 

Alyssa has been an active member of UTEP's Kappa Kappa Psi chapter, Alpha Chi; elected as the organization's Parliamentarian and Vice President of Programs, newly elected into her second year as VPP, focusing on the service aspect of the chapter. She volunteers her time as the Instagram manager and photo/video editor within the UTEP Bands social media team. Adding to her duties, Alyssa serves as a student assistant and membership coordinator for the Associate Director of UTEP Bands and Director of Athletic Bands, Dr. Andrew Hunter. She also works as a volunteer medic for the Marching Miners during summer band and game days.

Alyssa has served as a saxophone section leader for two out of her four years with the Marching Miners. Alyssa is currently in her 5th and final year with the Marching Miners now serving as one of the three drum majors. She has also been active member of the UTEP Pep Band and has taken part as a member in the UTEP Symphony and Concert Band.

Outside of her UTEP duties, she works for El Dorado High School as their woodwind tech.
